
Mission and Values
The IPFW Physical Plant is committed to quality competitive service. Our mission is to anticipate and provide the physical environment, which enables IPFW to achieve its objectives in instruction, research, and public services.
Values
As a customer service organization, the support of our customer is critical to our success. How we accomplish our mission is as important as the mission itself. Fundamental to the operation of the Physical Plant are these basic values:

Customer Services
The Building Services Group provides custodial services for academic and administrative buildings and Integrated Solid Waste (trash and recycling) services campus-wide.
Special Events helps schedule and reserve non-academic activities or events on campus.
Customer Service also handles:

- Dispatch/Reception/Keys
- Stores & Procurement
Design and Construction
Design and Construction Services provides architectural, interior and engineering design services; construction management; and project estimating. Any physical changes to property owned or leased by the University must be performed by or in cooperation with the Physical Plant. Bidding or contracting work done by an outside contractor also requires prior Physical Plant review and approval.

The Physical Plant has many updated maps available on the web. Utility Maps are available upon request.
Transportation Services
Transportation Services provides vehicle rental and leasing, passenger bus service, and full service maintenance and repair shop. Vehicles are typically rented by faculty and staff, but student rental is available under certain circumstances. Check Vehicles and Transportation for more details.
Landscape Design and Outdoor Services
The Physical Plant Landscape Architect and the Grounds Department are dedicated to the designing and providing a safe, functional and aesthetically-pleasing exterior environment for the students, faculty, staff and visitors to the University.
Operations Management
Operations and Maintenance provides services for the operations and maintenance of all buildings, structures, and infrastructure located on the Main Campus, West Campus, East Campus, and Northeast Campus. Operations also does maintenance work for auxiliaries on campus when authorized personnel submit a work request.
Procurement and contract management responsibility is provided for all utilities, including electric, natural gas, water and sewer.
